Your First Visit

At your first visit to our Hastings  or Grand Island Office please check in at the reception desk with your completed New Patient Information/Medical History Questionnaire (which was mailed to you with your welcome letter) and any current radiographs that your dentist has sent. If you do not have a current panoramic radiograph, one will be taken at no charge. The Treatment Coordinator will escort you and/or your parents to the new examination room. The Treatment Coordinator will review the New Patient Information/Medical History Form and answer any preliminary questions you have. Once the panoramic radiograph is processed one of our doctors will conduct the clinical orthodontic examination. Information will be recorded and shared with the referring dentist, patient and parents. Our doctors will provide as much information regarding a preliminary diagnosis and treatment plan and estimated fees as possible without complete diagnostic records.

One of three things will be recommended:
  • The patient will be placed on growth and guidance recall to follow their development if orthodontic treatment will be needed in the future.
  • Complete diagnostic records will be recommended if it is the proper time to start treatment. In most cases the diagnostic records are obtained at the first visit. If diagnostic records are obtained at the first visit a preliminary treatment plan will be presented along with financial arrangements. For the more complicated cases the patient and parents will be asked to return for a consultation appointment or one of our doctors will call the patient/parents at home.
  • No treatment may be recommended.
At your first visit to our Holdrege please check in at the reception desk with your completed New Patient Information/Medical History Questionnaire (which was mailed to you with your welcome letter) and any current radiographs that your dentist has sent. Radiographic equipment is not available in this office. One of our doctors will review the New Patient Information/Medical History Form with you and perform a clinical orthodontic examination.

The patient will need to come to the Hastings Office for the diagnostic records appointment.
  • No treatment may be recommended.
All of our procedures will be explained, at both offices, in terms that you can understand before any treatment is started. We encourage your questions, so please feel free to ask.
