 At Pershing Orthodontics our staff is extremely dedicated and efficient in the delivery of orthodontic care to our patients. We are here to help you, the patient and parents, have an enjoyable time during the orthodontic treatment. We strive to be considerate of your time through efficient scheduling and the use of the latest technology in orthodontic appliances and materials. Our orthodontic assistants have all graduated from Central Community College Dental Assisting Program. They are all certified in dental radiology and coronal polishing. Our office has an extensive orthodontic training program and we enjoy attending continuing education seminars at the local and national level. Our business staff has extensive experience helping patients and parents with their insurance and financial matters. They enjoy attending continuing education seminars specific to patient relationship and services. They will assist you in scheduling your orthodontic appointments so your treatment progresses as quickly as possible. Business Team  Julie Thomsen: Treatment Coordinator/PRC Julie has been Pershing Orthodontics' Treatment Coordinator since 1995. As the Treatment Coordinator she assists the doctors with patient examinations. This includes coordination of appointments with our office and your dentist when necessary. Julie assists parents and patients with their questions regarding, orthodontic appliances, appointments, fees and financial contracts. Along with Lynn Augustin, our Financial/Insurance Coordinator, and Leesa Hess our appointment coordinator, Julie is responsible for scheduling patient appointments. Julie is also a Jr. High youth sponsor at First Presbyterian Church as well as a School volunteer. Julie and her husband, Scott, have two teen age daughters and a dog named Chipper. She enjoys kickboxing, running, bowling, scrap booking and many outdoor activities with her family.  Lynn Augustin: Financial/Insurance Coordinator Since 1995 Lynn has been working for Pershing Orthodontics as our Financial/Insurance Coordinator. She is responsible for processing all insurance and predetermination claims. Lynn over sees all patients' accounts and financial contracts. If you have any questions regarding your account or insurance she will be happy to assist you. Along with Julie Thomsen, our Treatment Coordinator, and Leesa Hess, our Appointment Coordinator, Lynn is responsible for scheduling patient appointments. Lynn graduated from Adams Central High School and went on to attend Central Community College with an emphasis in business courses. She has two children. Her daughter, Amy Lynn is an interior designer in New Jersey and her son, Aric, works as a lighting specialist in Hastings. She has grandchildren she enjoys spending time with and, in her spare time, Lynn and her husband, Bob, enjoy traveling, looking for old treasures and going to auctions. She also enjoys cooking, if she doesn't have to do the dishes. Clinical Team  Marlene Lewis: Clinical Coordinator After graduating from the Dental Assisting Program at Central Community College in 1981 Marlene joined Pershing Orthodontics practice as an orthodontic assistant. For the last few years she has been the Clinic Coordinator. As the Clinic Coordinator, Marlene is responsible for coordinating patient care. She is also responsible for the Radiology Clinic and patients diagnostic records. Marlene will be one of the first people a new patient meets during their new patient examination. Marlene also assists the doctors chair side. Marlene grew up on the family farm in Wilcox, NE. Her husband, Kevin, and son, Kyle, participate in trap shooting and Boy Scouts. Marlene and her daughter, Morgan, are active in Girl Scouts. As well as being on the Dental Assisting Committee for Central Community College, Marlene serves as a Girl Scout Leader and enjoys gardening, antiques and crafting. She and her family own a 1936 Ford Coupe and tour car shows every summer.  Tammy Herringer: Assistant Clinical Coordinator Tammy joined Pershing Orthodontics in 1994. She graduated from Central Community College Dental Assisting Program in 1993 and worked for a while as a general dentist assistant. As the assistant clinical coordinator Tammy coordinates our Orthodontic Assistant Training program. She also has responsibilities as an orthodontic chair side assistant and laboratory duties where orthodontic appliances and retainers are fabricated. Tammy is responsible for our digital imaging system. You will see Tammy traveling to our out of town offices to assist the doctors. Tammy's personal time is spent scrap booking and with her family. She and her husband, Jay, have two children, son, Nicholas and daughter, Makenna.  Corissa Pavelka, CDA: Orthodontic Assistant Corissa graduated from Silver Lake High School. She then attended CCC and obtained an Associate of Applied Science degree and her Degree in Dental Assisting. Corissa is a Certified Dental Assistant. She has responsibilities as an orthodontic chair side assistant and you will see Corissa traveling to our out of town offices to assist the doctors. Corissa is originally from Bladen, NE. She moved to Lincoln after college and worked at the University Dental College before moving back to Hastings and joining Pershing Orthodontics. In her spare time Corissa enjoys spending time with her family and friends.  Kayla Roth: Orthodontic Assistant Kayla graduated from Gordon High School in 2002. She then attended Central Community College and obtained an Associate of Applied Science degree in dental assisting. Kayla joined the team of Pershing Orthodontics in March of 2004 as an orthodontic assistant. Kayla has one sibling, Nathan, who lives in Appleton Wisconsin with his wife and two kids, Jessica and Remington. In Kayla's spare time she enjoys shopping and spending time with her family and friends.  Jessica Jarzynka: Orthodontic Assistant Jessica graduated from Harvard High School in 2000. She then attended Central Community College and obtained an associate of applied science degree in dental assisting. Jessica joined Pershing Orthodontics in June of 2005. She had assisted in the field of orthodontics for three years prior. Jessica has responsibilities as an orthodontic chair side assistant and you will see Jessica traveling to our out of town offices to assist the doctors. Jessica and her husband, Addison, reside in Harvard and enjoy traveling and spending time with your family and friends. Back to top |
